Starting HyperWorks Desktop Applications

Starting HyperWorks Desktop Applications on Windows


1.From the Start menu, select the Altair HyperWorks [Version] group.
2.Select the application shortcut to run. The following shortcuts are provided:

HyperGraph:  Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the HyperGraph 2D client loaded

HyperMesh Desktop: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the HyperMesh client loaded

HyperMesh: Starts HyperMesh standalone

HyperView: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the HyperView client loaded

MotionView: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the MotionView client loaded

 

Startup options can be supplied to the application by modifying the shortcuts, or creating new ones, and adding the required options.

Alternatively, HyperWorks Desktop applications can be run from the system command prompt.

1.Launch the system command prompt and change to the directory from which the HyperWorks Desktop application should be run.
2.At the prompt, type the full path of the HyperWorks Desktop application executable, along with any startup options.

For example:

<altair_home>\hm\bin\<platform>\hmopengl.exe

Or:

<altair_home>\hw\bin\<platform>\hw.exe

 

Starting HyperWorks Desktop Applications on Linux


1.Launch the system terminal and change to the directory from which the HyperWorks Desktop application should be run.
2.At the prompt, enter the full path of the HyperWorks Desktop application start script, along with any startup options. The following start scripts are provided:

hg: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the HyperGraph 2D client loaded

hm: Starts HyperMesh standalone

hmdesktop: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the HyperMesh client loaded

hv: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the HyperView client loaded

hw: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the default client loaded

mview: Starts HyperWorks Desktop with the MotionView client loaded

For example:

<altair_home>/altair/scripts/hv
