Highlights

Through its innovative HyperWorks licensing mechanism, Altair provides great value. With every release licensing may slightly be modified to address new usage scenarios our customers may face. Common throughout the existence of HyperWorks is the goal to maximize the functionality that can be accessed thru a HyperWorks license.

The highlights of HyperWorks 14.0 licensing are following:

hmtoggle_arrow1New Solver Licensing Option - HyperWorks Unlimited Solver Node Licensing

For solvers (AcuSolve, FEKO, HyperForm, HyperXtrude, MotionSolve, OptiStruct, and RADIOSS), two different licensing options exist. The two options are the Per-Job licensing (as available since HyperWorks 11.0) and the HyperWorks Unlimited Solver Node (Per-Node) licensing (New in HyperWorks 14.0). Selection has to be made at purchase/renewal of license.

FEKO suite: FEKO is a powerful 3D simulation package intended for the analysis of a wide range of electromagnetic radiation and scattering problems. The FEKO GUI applications require 21 HWU to run.  FEKO Solver follows the HyperWorks Solvers licensing mechanisms.
HyperXtrude 2015 is a new CAD-based, easy to use interface for metal extrusion analysis.  Users start with a 3D CAD model of die assembly and submit a run for analysis in just a few minutes.  It draws 21 HyperWorks units to invoke this product.
HyperStudy Fit Excel Plugin, a curve fitting tools for MS Excel, draws 5 HyperWorks units.

hmtoggle_arrow1Changes in Licensing Behavior
Under the same user and host, HyperMesh when runing in batch mode will level the licensing units against other HyperWorks products.  In the earlier versions, HyperMesh in batch mode stacks the units on the second instance.
Under the same user and host, HyperMesh BatchMesher will level the HyperWorks units against other HyperWorks applications. In the earlier versions, the BatchMesher stack the units.
Removal of the OptiStruct Check and Radioss Check license features to run HW 14.0 OptiStruct and RADIOSS.

hmtoggle_arrow1New License Utility Tool

A new GUI license utility tool has been added.  This tool has the capability to perform the server queries, unit draw lookups, borrowing set up, host ID lookup, and Hosted HWU management.

hmtoggle_arrow1Altair License Management System Upgrade

The Altair License System has been updated to version 12.2.  HyperWorks 14.0 requires the Altair Licensing Manager 12.2 or higher.
