Highlights

A new entity is introduced to properly support the LS-DYNA *CONSTRAINED_RIOGID_BODY Keyword in HM. In addition a dedicated browser was added for improved usability.
HyperMesh can now create a seatbelt of only shell elements. No 1D elements will be created at its end specifying 1D length = 0
The support of Parameter is now extended to all the attributes used for LOADs, with the exception of scale factor that when parametrized will be converted in import to its actual value. Increased robustness in reading deck when the imported file has incorrectly less than the expected number of lines as the manual requires
Xtranode on non rigid part is now detected in model checker
Support for MWD option of *ELEMENT_MASS_PART_SET IN LS-DYNA
Add table option for Qi in *MAT_ADD_EROSION
Define box and database cross sections are now properly translated according to the translate option in *Define_Transformation.
Update for SOFT card parameter entry in *MAT_ENHANCED_COMPOSITE_DAMAGE for LS-DYNA
New element formulation ELFORM = 45 in *SECTION_SOLID in LS-DYNA
Better handling of Connectors (FE-Absorb) for Meshless welds during part replacement support for encryption for the following LS-DYNA materials: *MAT_MODIFIED_PIECEWISE_LINEAR_PLASTICITY ; *MAT_GURSON; *MAT_MODIFIED_HONEYCOMB
New check added to identify parts of *Constrained_Rigid_Body where the distance between its part exceed a used defined value
Mass from *PART_COMPOSITE is correctly calculated in the post summary component tool
HM can now export models with more than 500 include files

hmtoggle_arrow1New Entity for *CONSTRAINED_RIGID_BODIES

The keyword was originally mapped to a HM “group” entity that was shared with other keywords such contact and rigid walls. It is now mapped to new independent entity with its own Icon and Graphic and ID. The following behavior is implemented:

Removed any ID renumbering that occurred when a constrained rigid bodies shared the same ID with other “group entities”.
Such keywords in import are now automatically mapped to the new entities without loss of data
When reading an HM file created in previous versions, these keywords will be mapped to the new entity without loss of data.

A new graphical representation is added to facilitate the identification and selection of such entity in the graphics. The new graphic shows the master and slave parts connected through a dotted line drown with the color of the master. Moreover in the Solver Browser a specialized review is also provided.

From the Solver Browser the user also has access to a new CRB Hierarchy tool. To access the tool, right click on the constrained rigid bodies folder.

hm_14_120_35

CRB Hierarchy browser lists all the constrained rigid bodies available in the model, with information over its master and all its slave parts. The tool will show all the slave parts associated to the same master rigid under a single entity.

In addition all the rigid parts that are not linked to constrained rigid bodies entity are also listed in the CRB Hierarchy tool to facilitate the creation and\or modification of such such entity. The CRB entity can be modified through drag and drop of parts in such browser.

Right click on an existing constrained rigid body entity to add a rigid part from the master component.

A new constrained rigid body can be created by dragging the component(s) design as slave onto the component that will become the master of the newly created constrained rigid body.

Removing a slave part(s) from a constrained rigid body is also possible by selecting the slave part(s) and clicking on remove. You can also right click on the master part and remove all its slave part(s) from such constrained rigid body.

hmtoggle_arrow1New Keywords
*MAT_LAMINATED_FRACTURE_DAIMLER_CAMANHO (MAT-262)
*BOUNDARY_PRESCRIBED_ACCELEROMETER_RIGID
*CONTROL_THERMAL_TIMESTEP

hmtoggle_arrow1Resolved Issues
Solved Issue in I/O for *ELEMENT_SEATBELT_SENSOR where the NID field was getting lost.Fixed a problem in Transformation Tool where the Start ID for elements was not honored.
Fixed an issue with joints encountered updating 1d Elements. HM is no longer converting all joints into joints of type spherical
HM no longer export *SET_SEGMENT_GENERAL incorrectly. HM was not properly setting the OPTION field before.
The error check for constrained_joint_revolute was not detecting all cases of not coincident nodes
The transformation tool now correctly renumbers the ID of elements
