Highlights
This release includes a number of bug fixes, general improvements and one important enhancement related to the loading of result files in HyperView. Please read below for more details.
This important enhancement allows users to load multiple result files in HyperView. A typical use-case is a multiple loadcase simulation in which the user applies different loads on the same model and outputs the results as individual result files. In such a case, users can now bring in all the result files into a single model by picking the input deck as the model file and using “Add multiple result files” option in the load model panel to import all the result files. The load case view of the result browser will display each subcase and the result file to which it belongs. Any derived results will be available across all the loadcases coming from the different result files.

| • | Envelope trace plot (subcase or simulation) legend is changed to a category based legend. This change, in addition to making the legend simpler, improves query, measure and notes output by showing the actual labels instead of internal IDs and resolves some precision issues with the legend values when switching from an envelope trace plot to a regular plot. Users can either display the subcase/simulation labels (default option) or the IDs in the legend. Query or quick query will show subcase/simulation along with the actual value of the result type contoured. |
| • | A new “Small Deformation” option is added to the files view of the Results Browser. Activating this option will change the elemental system results definition to be based on model step instead of current simulation step for transient results at a model level. This option is primarily provided to enable users to plot vector results on 1-D elements for certain Nastran solution sequences (e.g. SOL 106, SOL400) that was not possible previously. For other scenarios, use this with caution. |
| • | Option to suppress arrow head for tensors is provided in the Tensor panel. |
| • | A flat list of include files will be shown in the Model view of the Result Browser. Show/Hide/Isolate/Isolate Only options are available through the context menu. |
| • | Option to export only selected sets from the model is provided in the Export Sets dialog. |
| • | Option to name external result files (resources) added via Expression Builder is provided. |
| • | If “auto-hide” option is active, the notes attached to an entity will be hidden when the entity is removed from display by a section cut. |
| • | Free Body Diagram utility will support H3D result files, provided the file contains the required result types. |
| • | A few Tcl APIs to provide information about size of Notes and Legends have been added. |

| • | HVTrans application stops without error while converting large ODB files. |
| • | Exported H3D contains fewer simulation steps than the original envelope load case leading to a mismatch in the Contour plot. |
| • | Distorted RBE2 elements when corner data option is enabled in OptiStruct H3D file. |
| • | Query does not provide correct layer information in the case of an envelope trace plot involving Top/Bottom contour. |
| • | Issue with sorting contour values containing strings in Query panel. |
| • | Notes that are hidden by auto-hide option can be selected in the graphics. |
| • | Visible only on selection method picks certain 1D elements that are invisible. |
| • | Refresh issue with Deformed panel when switching animation modes. |

| • | ODB reader for Abaqus 2016 results is added for Windows and Linux 64-bit platforms for HyperView and Hvtrans (this is also added in 13.0.116-hotfix). |
| • | Plastic strain tensor, Thermal strain tensor, residual forces and moment result types in LS-DYNA d3plot result files is supported. |
| • | LS-DYNA d3plot result reader enhanced to read multiple integration point results on solid elements (corner data). |
