YES - Activates the improved discrete topology optimization formulation that aims at producing more discrete results for all topology runs including manufacturing constraints.

NO - The new discrete topology optimization formulation is not activated. The traditional method is used instead.

Note

If minimum member size is activated, the three-phase approach is designed to produce discrete results. However, when manufacturing constraints (including symmetry and pattern grouping) are applied, results typically can contain a semi-dense layer of elements. This new discrete formulation aims at producing more discrete results for all topology optimization runs including manufacturing constraints. The improved solution discreteness also helps improve the results for maximum member size control.
