Controls the internal calculation of material damping when different material damping values (GE on MATx) are specified for different regions in a model. This internal change may improve computational speed.

1: The value of PARAM, G is internally set equal to the most common value of GE for structural elements in the model, to speed up the calculation of material damping. The GE values (new GE values) of the rest of the elements in the model are correspondingly set such that the totals (PARAM, G + new GE value) are equal to the initially specified values.

0: The traditional material damping calculation is used.
