Ten additional viewing controls can be assigned to MB2 in MediaView.  The view control assigned to MB2 is selected from a pop-up menu that is activated by clicking MB3.  Any one of the ten controls can be assigned to MB2.  The default settings are Circle Zoom and Fit image to window.

Circle Zoom magnifies a selected section of your video image and is the default setting for the left mouse button.

Unzoom reduces a selected section of your video image.

Translate repositions a video image by dragging the mouse.  If part of the image is moved out of the viewing area, the image is clipped.

Pick Center repositions the video image such that the selected point is now centered in the viewing area.  When Pick Center is assigned to the left mouse button, a small white square appears in the center of the window.  If part of the image is moved out of the viewing area, the image is clipped.

Recenter repositions the video image such that the center point of the image is centered in the viewing area.  If part of the image is moved out of the viewing area, the image is clipped.

Set Crosshair adds a crosshair to the video image and all video images on the page, centered at the selected point and extended to the bounds of the viewing area.

Clear Crosshair removes markers from each image on each video window.

Fit image to window scales the video image to fit the image in the area of the window in which it is contained.

Use native image size uses the native image size in the area of the window in which it is contained.

Edges renders an "edges only" image of the file.

How do I...

hmtoggle_plus1 Assign a viewing control to the left mouse button:

1.Move the pointer into the active window.
2.Right-click if you are using a two-button mouse.
3.Select the control to be assigned to the left-mouse button.

When the left mouse button is clicked or dragged in the active window, it performs the function assigned to it.

hmtoggle_plus1 Magnify part of an image using Circle Zoom:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Circle Zoom.
3.Use the mouse to zoom in on an area of the image.

The circled area is magnified.

hmtoggle_plus1 Reduce part of an image using unzoom:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Unzoom.

The entire image is displayed.

hmtoggle_plus1 Translate a video image:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Translate.
3.Use the mouse to translate the image.

The portion of the image displayed is moved with the mouse.

If the image is moved out of the viewing area, the image is clipped.

hmtoggle_plus1 Reposition a video image using Pick Center:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Pick Center.
3.Use the mouse to select a point on the image.

The selected point is centered in the viewing area.

If part of the image is moved out of the viewing area, the image is clipped.

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Recenter.

The center point of the image is centered in the viewing area.

If part of the image is moved out of the viewing area, the image is clipped.

hmtoggle_plus1 Add a marker to a video window:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Add Markers.
3.Use the mouse to select a point on the image.

A crosshair is drawn, centered at the selected point and extending to the bounds of the viewing area.

hmtoggle_plus1 Clear a marker from single or multiple windows:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file with a marker.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Clear Markers.

The crosshairs are removed from each image on each video window.

hmtoggle_plus1 Fit the image to the current window:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Fit image to window.

The image is scaled to use the maximum area of the window in which it is contained.

The aspect ratio of the image is preserved.

hmtoggle_plus1 Use the native image size:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Use native image size.

The image is returned to its normal size.

hmtoggle_plus1 Render an "edges only" view of the image:

1.Select a MediaView window that contains an image file.
2.From the context sensitive menu, select Edges.

On the edges of the image is displayed.
