Forging is a user profile that supports interfaces for the metal-forging solvers HX-Forge and DEFORM. Forging is based on the powerful HyperMesh pre-processor, with the addition of special features for forging process simulations. HX-Forge is used for billet forging and it is part of HW Solvers.

DEFORM is a subprofile of Forging that helps you prepare input decks for the analysis of three-dimensional deformation or heat transfer simulations with the DEFORM solver.
