Use the Seatbelt panel to create and route a seatbelt onto a dummy. You can pick a list of nodes and select components around which the seatbelts are to be routed/wrapped. Seatbelts can be created using 1D elements or a combination of 1D and 2D elements.
There are no subpanels on the Seatbelt panel. All inputs and command buttons are located on the main panel.

Enables you to select the nodes which define the first endpoint, orientation nodes (used to guide the initial belt position) and the last end point of the seatbelt. Multiple nodes can be selected as orientation nodes to guide a smooth belt. |

toggle: 2D/1D or 1/D |
Determines whether the seatbelt is treated as 1-dimensional (zero width, and so on) or a combination of 2D and 1D elements. |

Specify a gap between the belts and the dummy components to avoid any initial penetration. |
element size |
Specify the density of the mesh for seatbelts. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
orient sensitivity |
When in orient mode, this value can be modified to change the sensitivity of the interactive movement of the belt segments to mouse movement. |
belt width |
Specify the width (in model units) of the belt. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
1d length to start |
Specify a distance the 1D elements must extend from the first endpoint of the seatbelt. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
1d length to end |
Specify a distance the 1D elements must extend from the last endpoint of the seatbelt. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
toggle: on release/real time |
On release (default) displays the full seatbelt segment upon release of the mouse. Real time displays the full seatbelt segment instantaneously. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
place 1D elems in |
Select a collector to place 1D elements that are created. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
place 2D elems in |
Select a collector to place 2D elements that are created. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
end type |
Determines whether the end length of the seatbelt will be rigid links (default) or tria surfaces. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |
mesh type |
Determines whether the mesh of the seatbelt will be quads only (default) or R-trias. Only available when the dimension toggle is set to 2D/1D. |

orient |
After you select the desired end list and the wrap-around entities (components, elements, or ellipsoids), click orient or accept. orient draws a full segment belt representation, which previews the orientation of the final belt. The two red end segments are linear and connect the end points selected to the previous intersection points on the dummy. The middle line segments follow the contour of the dummy and connect the two end segments. You can select each of the line segments and interactively orient them to a specific location. Once the final position is achieved, release the mouse to create a mesh that follows the specified path. The update subpanel enables you to interactively change/update the element density and biasing. |
accept |
After you select the desired end list and the wrap-around entities (components, elements, or ellipsoids), click orient or accept. accept eliminates the belt segment preview and directly creates a mesh on the belt. You can then interactively change or update the element density and so on. |
reject |
Undo the most recent seatbelt orient/mesh operation. |
return |
Exits the panel. |
