Along the left hand side of the Explore dialog, the available repositories are displayed. Click the desired repository to search for data within.
The following image displays the dialog with My Computer (an unmanaged repository of indexed content) selected as the desired repository. When selecting My Computer, you have the following options:

The following images displays the dialog with Personal (a managed repository) selected as the desired repository. When selecting Personal, you have the following options: Look in - Change the library you want to look in. Workspace - Allows you to select the active workspace. Because managed files are located in a library’s vault location, they must first be retrieved to your workspace before they are opened. Files which are not yet located in a workspace will be shown as the file name plus (Not retrieved). Once files are in a workspace, their full path will be displayed. Type - Specify the type of Content to display or query for. Query - The Query toolbar allows you to perform a simple or advanced query. See Querying for more information. Display Options - Clicking on the Display Options icon, , displays a pull-down menu which allows you to select different views, as shown below.
To open a file, click Open. You will then be given the option to Get a local, read-only copy, or to Check Out a copy for modification. In either case, the file will be copied to your active workspace, where it can be opened using the out-of-the-box Open feature. |
Additional repositories, also known as data stores, can be added so that information stored in other locations, such as material databases or corporate PLM systems, can be retrieved directly from within the HyperWorks environment.
