HW Inventory tools can scan the entire installation tree with the exception of directories or files that version tracking does not need.  Any directory or file can be excluded from inventory scanning by adding the directory or file name to the file, hw_inventory.cfg, located in the <HyperWorks>/altair/hw/tcl/hw/hwinventory/ directory.
