Opening a Video File

Video files are loaded from the File > Open > Media menu options.  You can also open a file using the Open Media icon, fileOpenMedia-24, from the toolbar.  Use the Open movie file browser to locate and load a file.

The program can read the following types of files:

Altair Movie File (*.amf), created using the AMF Builder.  This is a modified AVI file with timing information embedded in the file.
Windows AVI file (*.avi). One frame equals one second by default.  UNIX supports AVI's that are uncompressed or compressed with CINEPAK or MJPEG.
Windows Media file (*.wmv).

Windows Bitmap (*.bmp, *.dib)
GIF files (*.gif)
JPEG (*.jpg, *.jpeg)
PCX  (*.pcx)

Truevision Targa (*.tga)
NoteTime synchronization applies to movie files only.

How do I...

hmtoggle_plus1Open a static image or movie file:
1.From the menu bar, select File > Open > Media.

The Open Media File browser is displayed.

2.Select the file type from the Files of type drop-down menu.
3.Type the path and filename of the file into the File name field and press ENTER.

Or

Use the browser to locate the file and click Open.

The file is displayed.
