The HyperXtrude Utility menu lists options for importing a model into HyperMesh, selecting and assigning material properties, defining and applying boundary conditions, defining process conditions, and exporting data files to HyperXtrude. The buttons in the Utility menu provide shortcuts to native HyperMesh panels and access to pop-up menus and other macro panels. These macros are organized in a logical process flow.
The following options are available on the main page of the HyperXtrude Utility Menu for Metal Extrusion Analysis:

Deletes temporary nodes from the model. |

Open panel to create billet. |

Quick Solid Edit |
Allow merging/sharing of surfaces between solids. |

Create Bearing Lines |
Allows you to create bearing lines from 3D bearing curves. |

Extrusion Wizard |
Opens the Metal Extrusion Wizard sub-menu, which contains tools for creating input data for metal extrusion analysis. |

Tube Extrusion Wizard |
Opens the Tube Extrusion tab, which contains tools for creating input data for tube extrusion analysis. |

Tool Deflection Analysis |
Opens the Tool Deflection Wizard tab, which contains tools for creating input data for tool deflection analysis. |

Select Units |
Opens the unit selection window, where you can select the unit system, which automatically updates the other units. In case of Mixed, you can choose appropriate length, temperature, velocity and stress units. |

Material Database |
Opens the materials database, from which you can select materials, assign material properties to components, and view viscosity/flow stress graphs. |
|
Press Database |
Allows you to load press data. It enables HyperXtrude to verify data consistency and check whether the extrusion assembly under study works with the selected press. |

Create/Edit BC |
Allows you to define and assign boundary conditions on element faces. |
|
Check Undefined BC |
Identify the external faces without loads. |
|
Check Duplicate BC |
Identify duplicate loads in the model. |
|
Update 7.0 BC |
Converts boundary conditions created in the HyperXtrude 7.0 format (based on loads) to the format based on faces (8.0 - current). |

Displays a menu that allows you to specify run control parameters. |

Billet Taper |
Displays a tab to enter billet taper data parameters. |

Extract Points |
Allows you to define solution monitoring points in the mesh. The HyperXtrude solver prints detailed solution history at these monitoring points. |

Model Summary |
Displays the summary of process conditions, materials assigned, BCs created, and element statistics of the model. |
|
Export/Launch Solver |
Generates Data Deck for solver in interactive and batch mode. Starts the HyperXtrude solver using the current model, existing data deck, or a restart file. |
|
HX Job Manager |
Opens the HX Job Manager window, for generating data decks for HyperXtrude and launch HX, RADIOSS solvers on local/remote machines. |
