Materials Flow Stress Data Dialog

Use this dialog to assign a stress/strain curve to a material. The following fields and buttons appear on the Materials Flow Stress Data dialog. Refer to the DEFORM documentation set for more details about the parameters you set here.

 

Field

Description

Material

Select a material from the drop-down list.

Type

Select a type value from the drop-down list. The remaining fields that appear in the dialog, listed below, are dependent on the flow stress function type that is selected in this field.

C

Type the material constant. (type 1)

N

Type the strain sensitivity index value. (types 1, 4, 5)

M

Type the strain rate sensitivity index value. (type 1)

Y

Type the material constant. (type 1)

Nstrain

Number of strain sampling points. (types 2 and 3)

Nsrate

Number of strain rate sampling points. (types 2 and 3)

Ntemp

Number of temperature sampling points. (types 2 and 3)

Curve

Type the file name that contains the data for the flow stress curve. Click … to browse for this file.

D

Material constant.

H

Activation energy.

A

Material constant.

R

Gas constant.

Apply

Applies the current settings to the simulation.

Close

Closes the Materials Flow Stress Data dialog.
