Bushings are typically used to reduce vibration and noise, absorb shock, and accommodate misalignments. Depending on the requirements user can add any number of bushing to the Bushing components.
Bushing component is required to define the options in the Bushing Properties section:
Type of Bushing: Defines the type of bushing either Linear or AutoBush.
Translational Stiffness Properties/Rotational Stiffness Properties: These define the diagonal entries for a 6x6 stiffness matrix that is used to calculate the spring force. All stiffness values must be non-negative, in other words, Kij > 0. Rotational damping values are represented as Ktx, Kty and Ktz.
Translational Damping Properties/Rotational Damping Properties: These define the diagonal entries for a 6x6 damping matrix that is used to calculate the damping force. All damping values must be non-negative, in other words, Cij > 0. Rotational damping values are represented as Ctx, Cty and Ctz.
In the Bushing block of Leaf Property file, the attribute, type, and valid value that has to be entered in tiem orbit file format is detailed in the following table. This table also provides the information about whether an attribute is required.
An example of how a Bushing block is represented in a TiemOrbit file format is shown below:
