Use the Legend Edit panel in conjunction with the Contour, Transient, Deformed , and Vector Plot panels.

The legend displays the range of values for the plot.  The legend edit function allows you to change the number of colors in the legend or the colors of the legend.  You can also reverse the colors used in the legend.  To enter this panel, first create a plot that uses a legend, then pick the legend from the graphics area.

Color files are found in the Altair installation directory, in the folder colors.  The color files are actually command files with color editing commands.  Additional site-dependent color files can be added to the  colors directory. A site-dependent file can provide better mapping of colors to different printers and plotters.
