Unused free nodes in a model that you would like to keep for future use are called preserved nodes. When a free node is not referenced by any of the entities in your model, unused nodes are automatically deleted. You can save a free node that you are not currently using by converting it into a temporary node, but Engineering Solutions will only continue to save these free nodes as long as they are marked as a temporary node. To guarantee that a free or temporary node will be saved in your model once you create them, you must convert them into a preserved node.
Use the Preserve node panel to:
Review Preserved NodesWhen you open or import a model that contains preserved nodes, you can only review these nodes in the Preserve Node panel. Preserved nodes are highlighted red in the graphics area. Preserved nodes are highlighted red The number of preserved nodes in your model is reported in the bottom-left corner of the panel.
Review Temporary and Free NodesYou can also review temporary nodes in your model, and free nodes that are not referenced by any entities in your model in the Preserve Node panel. Free and temporary nodes are highlighted yellow in the graphics area. Temporary and free nodes are highlighted yellow
