Feature entities are used to track and manage certain geometric features. Features are shown under the Features folder in the Model browser.

A dimension feature facilitates the change of dimensions in a model, and stores information such as the surface vertices, parametrization, and control options required to edit a dimension.

The display state of dimension feature manipulators is controlled by selecting the Features folder in the browser, or by selecting an individual Feature entity in the browser. In addition, all dimension feature manipulators are shown within the Dimensioning panel. For a dimension manipulator to be shown, both of its associated vertices must be displayed.

Features also have an active and export state. The active state of a feature controls the display state of the feature manipulator and the listing of the feature in the Model browser and any of its views. If a feature entity is active, then its display state is available to be turned on or off and it is listed in the Model browser and any of its views. If a feature entity is inactive, then its display state is turned off permanently and it is not listed in the Model browser or any of its views.

The export state of a feature entity controls whether or not that feature is exported when the custom export option is utilized. The all export option is not affected by the export state of a feature. The active and export states of feature entities can be controlled using the Entity State browser.

Dimensions created in the Dimensioning panel prior to 14.0.120 are converted to feature entities upon loading the model.
