Use the Extended Entity Selection menu option By Width to select surfaces based on their width. Selecting this option posts the By Width panel in the main panel area.

 

Subpanels and Inputs


The By Width panel contains the following subpanels and command buttons:

In the By Example subpanel, use the surf entity selector to select one sample surface either by manually picking it in the graphics area, or by specifying its ID number in the by id dialog. When you click select, HyperMesh finds the surfaces in your model with a similar width, according to the filtering options described below.

closed loops only

When this option is checked, HyperMesh systematically disregards surfaces that do not form a closed loop.

has free edges

When this option is selected, a surface also has to have at least one free edge to be selected.

 

hmtoggle_arrow1By Value

In the By Value subpanel, you specify a range of values for the width using the min width = and max width = input fields and HyperMesh finds the surfaces that match this range taking into account any filtering option used.

Enter the minimum width of the surface to find.

max width

Enter the maximum width of the surface to find.
