Build Menu Panel

Use the Build Menu panel to redefine the layout of the menu system.

From this panel you can change where menu items appear on a page of the menu, or to change the meaning of any of the function keys. When you access the Build Menu panel, a list of the available menu items are displayed in the graphics area of the screen. The button colors indicate the following:

Description

b-menu-gray Grey

The panel can be assigned to a function key and it is currently assigned to at least one of the menus.

b-menu-yellow Yellow

The panel can be assigned to a function key and it is not currently assigned to any of the menus.

b-menu-cyan Cyan

The panel cannot be assigned to a function key, but it is currently assigned to at least one of the menus.

b-menu-blue Blue

The panel cannot be assigned to a function key and it is not currently assigned to any of the menus.

If you remove a build menu item, other users cannot change your menu. Once this is done, however, the only way to change your menu system again is to delete the menu file, hmmenu.set, from the current directory.

1.Select the appropriate page from the page menu.
2.To replace one panel name with another:

In the menu area, select the panel name that you want to change.

A cyan colored box surrounds the selected name.

In the graphics region, select the menu item that you want to insert into the main menu page.

The panel name where the cursor is located is replaced with the panel name selected in the graphics area.

3.To delete a panel name from a main menu page:

Select the appropriate page number.

In the menu area, select the panel name that you want to delete.

Click delete.

The panel name is deleted and the following names are shifted up one space.

4.To insert a blank space into the list of panel names:

Select the appropriate page menu.

In the menu area, select the place where you want to insert a blank menu item.

Click insert.

A blank space is inserted where the cursor is located and the panel items that follow it are shifted down one space.

5.To erase a panel name:

Select the appropriate page menu.

In the menu area, select the panel name that you want to erase.

Click erase.

The panel name where the cursor is located is erased and replaced with a blank space.

6.To restore the menu to the state it was in when the panel was entered (undoing all changes), click restore.
7.To save your new menu layout, click exit.

The menu system is saved and is restored to the new layout when the program is run again.
