ALE Setup Panel

Location:   Analysis page with the LS-DYNA user profile active

 

Use the ALE Setup panel to create and modify input data pertaining to the Arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian LS-DYNA capability.

Panel Usage

The ALE Setup panel contains the following subpanels and command buttons:

Use the Create subpanel to create ALE groups.

name

Specify a name for the ALE card.

type

Specify a type for the ALE card. See the options listed above.

color

Select a color for the ALE group.

 

hmtoggle_arrow1Add/Update

The setup of certain ALE cards may require a link to entities such as components or a set. Use the Add/Update subpanel to perform this operation.

Specify a name for the ALE card.

options

Set this toggle to the appropriate selection. Options include comps, comp set, node set, or contactsurf.

The following action buttons appear throughout the subpanels:

Create the ALE card.

update

Update the selected card with the new information.

create/edit

Create the ALE card and immediately open the Card Editor with the ALE card loaded.

review

Highlights the selected mass element.

edit

Open the Card Editor with the current ALE card loaded.

update color

Update the ALE card color with the newly selected color.

return

Exit the panel.
