Highlights

Highlights of this release include an addition of a new measure type to compute shortest distance between two entities, graphical in-place editing of legend, a new graphical slider on the legend for iso-plots, and some general enhancements and bug fixes.

hmtoggle_arrow1Minimum Distance Measure Type

A new measure to calculate the shortest (minimum) distance between any two entities during a simulation is added. The entities can be nodes, elements, or components. If elements/components are picked on the “To” side, HyperView will take into account the surface of the element when calculating the shortest distance. As the animation is played, the graphics will be updated to show the shortest distance. Additionally, users can plot this measure in a HyperGraph window similar to other measure types.

For fastest calculation, use node sets. If more accuracy is desired, pick element or component sets and in this case, the time taken to calculate distance through one cycle of animation is directly proportional to the size of the sets.

hmtoggle_arrow1General In-Place Legend Editing

The HyperView legend is enhanced to allow users to edit values and colors of the legend by just clicking on it and changing it in-place instead of using the Edit legend dialog.

A context menu is also available on right clicking the legend, to let users modify other attributes of the legend such as format, location etc.

hmtoggle_arrow1Graphical Iso-Slider On Legend

This enhancement gives users a quick and convenient way to create & control iso-plots. Simply use the legend context menu to add an iso-plot that is based on the contour settings and then move the graphical slider on the left side of the legend up and down to control its display. The threshold value and mode of the iso-plot can be changed in the Iso section of the legend.

hmtoggle_arrow1General Enhancements
HyperView Player is enhanced to allow users to change the animation mode (e.g. transient to modal or transient to linear).
Utility to extract assemblies from LS-Dyna input deck is enhanced to support include files.
New report template parameters for parametrizing display attributes such as mesh mode and views at a model level is provided.
New preference menu option to retain the rotation center even when it is moved off the screen is added.

hmtoggle_arrow1Resolved Issues
Differences in contour plot display between HyperView and HyperView player due to absence of accelerated graphics option in the player. Accelerated graphics is now enabled in HyperView player.
Max of Window template expression in Note does not provide correct results when results with corner data is plotted.
Notes when exported in a H3D come back on top of each other on re-import.
Time Synchronization information is not saved for videos.
Graphics issue when section cut is created on solid elements.
Edge lines are shown on wrongly connected Penta6 elements.
Long time to open model files containing a large number of duplicate nodes.
Application error when opening H3D files with non-English characters in the path or file name
