Definition

This option is often used to shrink the airbag in order to put it into the canister, where the airbag may naturally reach its final size.

This option can be used to inflate an airbag, instead of simulating the real unfolding; which is difficult numerically. A jetting effect can be added in order to set a preferential direction for the unfolding.

guide_reference_metric

Initial State is the airbag geometry entered by you in the initial RADIOSS input deck.

Reference Metric is the reference state with no strains. This state is defined from a file containing the nodal coordinates, the connectivities of the airbag being the same as in the Initial State. The format of this file is the same as the format of nodal coordinates of a RADIOSS Starter input. The file is read according to /XREF in the RADIOSS Starter input deck. Its default name is RunNameRSO.

Methodology

The Reference Metric method consists in the calculation for the Initial State of the initial strains, stresses and energy, this calculation is taken into account only for elastic strain.

Compatibility

4-nodes shells
3-nodes shells
large strain option
small strain option
material law 1 (/MAT/LAW1)
material law 19 (/MAT/LAW19)
material law 58 (/MAT/LAW58)
Note:The Reference State is used to define the fabric orientation.
