Video files can be annotated using notes. Notes are text boxes placed in video windows for labeling items, describing trends, and relating additional curve information.
Notes panel
The note list displays the names of all the notes in the active window. Notes can be renamed, added, cut, copied, and pasted using the note list controls. A note must be selected either from the list or picked from the window in order to edit it. Click on a note name in the list to select it or click on the note box displayed in the window. Notes can be turned on or off. To turn a note off, select the note from the note list or pick the note from the window and deactivate the check box next to the note name above the note list. To turn a note on, activate the check box. The Cut, Copy, Paste, and Add buttons are used to maintain the note list. Notes can be copied and pasted onto other windows. Notes can also be added and deleted from the list. |
Once a note has been added to the note list, note text can be entered and formatted. Enter note text in the text box. Carriage returns can be used to create new lines. There is no limit to the number of lines a note can contain. Click on the expansion button, , to enlarge the text entry window. Click the Font button, , to display the Font dialog. The Font dialog allows you to select font type, style, and size. Note text can be left aligned, right aligned, or centered in a note box. Select the alignment using the radio buttons to the right of the Text tab. Text alignment is updated automatically. Notes can be positioned anywhere in the window by dragging them with the left mouse button. Click inside the note box, then drag the note to a new location. While moving, the note is represented by a colored box. Release the mouse button to place the note at the new position. Notes can contain Templex statements, math and string functions and operators. In fact, notes can be complete Templex templates. Templex enables you to include text from an external file, call external functions, assign variables, and perform math operations within a note. Click Apply to process any Templex statements contained in the note and display the text in the note box or to update existing text.

From the Attributes tab, you can set the note border and the border and font color. Once you select a color from the palette, the border and font colors are updated automatically. From the Attach to tab, you can specify how a note is displayed in the window. Once attached, notes can be positioned anywhere in the window by dragging them with the left mouse button. Click inside the note box, then drag the note to a new location. While moving, the note is represented by a colored box. Release the mouse button to place the note at the new position. Notes can be anchored two ways, Window or View. When a video image file is either cut or copied, notes attached to the curve are also cut or copied. Window - The note remains stationary when the video image is repositioned in the window.View - The note moves with the video image when the image is repositioned in the window. |
