In order to define how the parts of the model interact with each other, you must define contact interactions. For each tool motion, you need to specify which part is the master and which is the slave. In the case of DEFORM simulations, the die is the master and the billet is the slave.
You can create contact interactions using the Contact macro, which opens the Interfaces panel.
How Do I…
1. | Click Contact from the Utility menu. The Interfaces panel opens. |
2. | Ensure that the create subpanel is selected. |
3. | Type an identifying name for the interaction in the name field. |
4. | Click type to choose Contact as the interface type. |
5. | Ensure that the creation method is selected as from a card image and as the Contact type. |
7. | Select the add subpanel. |
8. | Using the master: switch, select comps. Click the adjacent comps input collector to choose the appropriate component for the master part. In DEFORM, the master part is always the rigid tool. |
9. | Using the slave: switch, select comps. Click the adjacent comps input collector to choose the appropriate component for the slave part. In DEFORM, the slave part is always the billet. |
