The RTM Utility menu consists buttons that provide shortcuts to functions in HyperMesh. The layout of the buttons mimic the process flow required to set up a model for RTM.
The main Utility menu is shown below, along with descriptions of each macro button.
Tools |
Solid Meshing Wizard |
Opens the Solid Meshing Wizard, which facilitates meshing the solids either with solidmap, tetMesh or CFD mesh. See the Solid Meshing Wizard panel for more details. |
Split Prisms to Tets |
Allows you to split all prisms (6-noded pentas) to tetras |
Material Data |
Opens the materials database, from which you can edit materials, create new materials and select and assign material properties to components. |
Create Table |
Creates 1D and 2D tables as per the user inputs. This tables can be used in BC’s assignment |
Boundary Conditions |
Create/Edit BC |
Allows you to define and assign boundary conditions on element faces. |
Check Undefined BC |
Identify the external faces without loads. |
Check Duplicate BC |
Identify duplicate loads in the model. |
Process Data |
Parameters |
Displays a menu that allows you to specify run control parameters. |
Extract Points |
Allows you to define solution monitoring points in the mesh. The HyperXtrude solver prints detailed solution history at these monitoring points. |
Estimate Time Step Size |
Estimates the appropriate time step size of the analysis. See the Estimate Time Step Size section for more details. |
Estimate Injection Pressure |
Calculates the max injection pressure. Refer Estimate Injection Pressure section for more details. |
Model Summary |
Displays the summary of process conditions, materials assigned, BCs created, and element statistics of the model. |
Export Data |
Export Data Deck |
Allows you to create HyperXtrude data files. |
Launch Solver |
Starts the HyperXtrude solver using the current model, existing data deck, or a restart file. |
