Area connector creation by node path may not provide satisfactory results when the path defined by the selected nodes has a break angle close to 90 degrees. The width of the connector plays an important role when selecting nodes in such areas where mesh is well refined.
For example, area connectors using node selection may provide unsatisfactory results around L-sections, as shown below.
A simple workaround is to create two straight area connectors instead of a single L-shaped one.
