Select a Spreadsheet model if your calculations are done in an Excel spreadsheet. With this model type, you must load the spreadsheet you want to work on in the Resource column. Once you load a .xls file, HyperStudy automatically defines the Solver input file and Solver execution scripts columns.

Creating an Excel Spreadsheet Model

When you create an Excel spreadsheet model, it is important that you format it correctly. A variable's value and label can be formatted in two consecutive rows or two consecutive columns. Variable labels should only contain English characters, or a combination of English characters and numbers. If you do not create a label for a variable, HyperStudy will assign one by default.

Working with Spreadsheet Models on a Windows Platform

If you are working with Spreadsheet models in HyperStudy on a Windows platform, these spreadsheets will be brought to the front. HyperStudy will prevent you from accessing any spreadsheets that you had opened prior to or after (by double-clicking) starting your current HyperStudy session.

To access an Excel spreadsheet while running a study with Spreadsheet models, you must explicitly start a new session of Excel by going to Program Files > Microsoft Office Excel.

Working with Spreadsheet Models on a Mac

A HyperStudy session on Mac may only contain one spreadsheet model. Furthermore, the target spreadsheet should only contain a single worksheet. If multiple worksheets are open, you will not be able to maximize, minimize, or close existing worksheets and workbooks.
