The HyperWorks help can be accessed from within a HyperWorks application using the Help menu, from the Altair website, or it can be run independently.

The help opens in a Web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer.  For information on setting up help see: Setting up Help on Linux or Windows.

The browser window is divided into two frames. The left frame allows you to access the Contents, Index, and Search options. The right frame displays the help topic.

Contents, Index, and Search Tabs

In the left frame:

Click Contents to display the table of contents. Browse the Contents to find a particular topic, then click the topic title to open the help topic in the right frame.
Click Index to access a list of topics and keywords in alphabetical order.
-Type a keyword in the text box to locate it in the Index, then click the keyword to open the associated help topic.
-You can also simply browse the Index to find a particular topic or keyword.
Click Search to search for a word or phrase in the help. Under Category, select a single or multiple product checkbox(es) to search the respective book(s). The default is set to All. Enter the word or phrase you wish to search for in the Search for text box, choose the desired number of results to list per page, and click Submit. The Category list will collapse upon the search. To expand the list, click the (+) sign next to Category. The topics that match your search criteria will be listed below the search field. Click a topic link to open the topic.

You may also search for a word or phrase in the help by using your browser's find function. For both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, press CTRL+F to access the browser find function.
