PTUBE – Tube Property

Description

PTUBE defines the properties of a thin-walled cylindrical tube element, referenced by a CTUBE entry.

Field	Contents
PID	Unique property identification number. (Integer > 0)
MID	Material identification number. (Integer > 0)
OD	Outside diameter of tube. (Real > 0.0)
T	Thickness of tube. If T is zero, a solid circular rod is assumed. (Real; T < ½ OD)
NSM	Nonstructural mass per unit length. (Real)
OD2	Diameter of tube at second grid point – G2 on CTUBE entry. See comment 2. Default = OD (OD or blank)

Comments

1.	For structural problems, PTUBE entries may only reference MAT1 material entries.

2.	Tapered tubes are not allowed.

3.	PTUBE data is converted to PROD data as it is read. CTUBE data is converted to CROD data.

4.	This card is represented as a property in HyperMesh.
