To Start HW Inventory with Options in the Start Menu

1.Go to

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Altair HyperWorks 13.0\Tools\.

2.Right click on the file name, HW Inventory.
3.Click properties and select shortcut from the list.
4.Modify the Target from the default:

C:\Altair\hw13.0\hw\tcl\tcl8.5.6\bin\tclsh85.exe "C:\Altair\hw13.0\hw\tcl\hw\hwinventory\hw_inventory.tcl"

To

C:\Altair\hw13.0\hw\tcl\tcl8.5.6\bin\tclsh85.exe C:\Altair\hw13.0\hw\tcl\hw\hwinventory\hw_inventory.tcl  -s path1   -o path2

Where

path 1 points to the directory that HW Inventory will scan, recursively.

path 2 points to the directory where the report file will reside.
