*gap()
Creates a gap element in HMASCII format.
Syntax
*gap (id,type,node1,node2,propertyid,vectorid)

HyperMesh HMASCII
Description
Creates a gap element in HMASCII format.
This must follow *component(). The element will be assigned to the most recent component created using *component().
Nodes must also be defined using *node() before creating an element using those nodes.
Inputs
- id
- The ID of the element.
- type
- The solver specific element type.
- node1
- The ID of the first node.
- node2
- The ID of the second node.
- propertyid
- The ID of the property directly assigned to the element. If specified as 0, the property is taken from the component.
- vectorid
- The ID of the vector assigned to the element. If specified as 0, there is no assigned vector.
Example
To create a spring element with ID 100, solver type 1, nodes 1 2, direct property ID 5 and no vector:
*gap(100,1,1,2,5,0)
Errors
Incorrect usage results in an import error.
