1.For truss elements, if the cross section variation is computed as:

where, is the Poisson’s ratio given in the material law.

2.The truss is activated only if:

The current distance between truss nodes is smaller than the initial length minus Gapini.

3.Gapini should be Gapini > 0.  Negative Gapini will be treated as 0. The truss will not be activated in tensile.
