Advanced Joints Panel

The Advanced Joints panel allows you to create a set of special constraints called higher pair joints. Typically these are constraints that involve a curve or surface on at least one of the two bodies.

ConstraintMate Joint

Note	The connectivity and orientation information of a joint and bushing are identical. A joint places a combination of rigid constraints between two bodies, and a bushing places compliant constraints between bodies.

1.	From the Project Browser, select the system to which the advanced joint is to be added.

2.	Right-click on a system folder in the Project Browser and select Add > Constraint > Advanced Joint from the context menu.

-	Right-click on an advanced joint folder in the Project Browser and select Add Advanced Joint from the context menu.

-	Right-click the Advanced Joint button on the Constraint toolbar.

The Add AdvJoint dialog is displayed.

3.	The parent system name is displayed in the System field.

4.	Enter a label in the Label: field if you want to use a different label than the default.

5.	Enter a variable name in the Variable: field if you want to use a different variable name than the default.

6.	Select a joint type from the drop-down menu.

7.	Enter any notes in the text box.

8.	Click Apply.

Click OK.
