The Safety menu lists options for crash safety modeling such as airbags, seatbelt and dummy positioning. The menu has minor modifications depending on the solver that is loaded.

Airbags

Create, edit and review airbags.

Seat Mechanism

Opens the Mechanism browser to create and articulate a kinematic mechanism.        

Dummy Positioner

Opens the Dummy browser to position a dummy model.    

Occupant

Shortcut to the Dummy Positioning panel for dummy articulation and positioning.

Sensor

Opens the Create sensors dialog.

Seat Belts

Shortcut to the Seatbelt panel for routing seatbelts around the dummy.

Retractor

Create, edit and review retractors on nodes through the Mass panel with elem types set to RETRACTOR.

Pretensioner

Create, edit and review retractors on nodes through the Mass panel with elem types set to PRETENSION. (LS-DYNA only)

Sliprings

Create, edit and review sliprings on nodes through the Mass panel with elem types set to SLIPRING.

FMVSS 201/ECE-R21

Opens a Process Manager tab. This tool generates a deck for the simulation of the head impact on an instrument panel. It is available in the RADIOSS and LS-DYNA user profiles.    

Pedestrian Impact

Opens a Process Manager tab. This tool generates an input deck for the simulating pedestrian head and leg impacts on vehicle hoods, windshields, bumper and bonnets. The Pedestrian Impact tool is available in the RADIOSS and LS-DYNA user profiles.
