The body coordinate system (BCS) is used to define a local reference frame for the body.
Bodies panel - Body Coordsys tab
Use Body |
Check this option to define the body coordinate system to something other than Global. |
Origin |
|
|
Point |
Select the origin of the local body reference frame. |
|
Orientation |
Refer to Methods of Orientation for a Coordinate System for additional information. |
MotionView creates an implicit marker - Marker LPRF belonging to the body.
Adams defines all markers associated with a body with respect to the local part reference frame. MotionSolve defines all markers with regard to the Global Coordinate System (GCS).
In the MotionSolve result plot files (*.mrf or *.abf), the part positions and orientation that are reported are those of the body coordinate system.
Note | This tab is not currently available for a Point Mass body. |
For a Deformable body, specifying a body coordinate system other than Global will move the deformable body by the distance between the Point used to define the BCS and Global Origin.
