The Define tab allows you to define surfaces for solid, shell, membrane, rigid, gasket, beam, pipe, or truss elements.  You can also define the surface by specifying the face identifier for an element set.  There are six available surface definition options for various element types:

The layout of the Define tab changes, based on your selection (displayed in blue).  Some options may be disabled depending on the current template.
