*nodesassociatetogeometry

Associates nodes to points, lines, surfaces or solids.

Syntax

*nodesassociatetogeometry mark_id entity_type entity_id tolerance

Type

HyperMesh Tcl Modify

Description

This command is used to associate nodes to points, lines, surfaces and solids. Association also moves/positions the nodes onto that geometric entity.

Inputs

mark_id
The mark of nodes to position and associate. Valid values are 1 and 2.
entity_type
The type of entity to use for the association. Valid values are points, lines, surfaces and solids. When surfaces are used, surface edges are also considered for the association
entity_id
The ID of the entity_type entity to associate to.
tolerance
The search tolerance to use for the association. Any nodes on mark_id that are further than tolerance away from the specified entity are not associated.

Example

To associate nodes 1-100 to surface ID 5 using a tolerance of 0.01:

*createmark nodes 1 1-100
*nodesassociatetogeometry 1 surfs 5 0.01

Errors

Incorrect usage results in a Tcl error. To detect errors, you can use the catch command:
if { [ catch {command_name...} ] } {
   # Handle error
}
