*nodesassociatetogeometry
Associates nodes to points, lines, surfaces or solids.
Syntax
*nodesassociatetogeometry mark_id entity_type entity_id tolerance
Type
HyperMesh Tcl Modify
Description
This command is used to associate nodes to points, lines, surfaces and solids. Association also moves/positions the nodes onto that geometric entity.
Inputs
- mark_id
- The mark of nodes to position and associate. Valid values are 1 and 2.
- entity_type
- The type of entity to use for the association. Valid values are points, lines, surfaces and solids. When surfaces are used, surface edges are also considered for the association
- entity_id
- The ID of the entity_type entity to associate to.
- tolerance
- The search tolerance to use for the association. Any nodes on mark_id that are further than tolerance away from the specified entity are not associated.
Example
To associate nodes 1-100 to surface ID 5 using a tolerance of 0.01:
*createmark nodes 1 1-100
*nodesassociatetogeometry 1 surfs 5 0.01
Errors
Incorrect usage results in a Tcl error. To
detect errors, you can use the catch
command:
if { [ catch {command_name...} ] } {
# Handle error
}
